We need individual volunteers to assist in the following areas:

Seed Boutique & Community Shop: sorting donations, hanging clothes, restocking shelves and organizing items by size. This opportunity is available for volunteers ages 12-15 accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and volunteers ages 16+ without supervision. Volunteers will bend, stand and move items (no more than 5 pounds), though volunteers can be accommodated with a seated job in this location.

Warehouse: lift and move furniture, unload incoming donations, organize donations in the loft, assist with loading furniture for clients. Volunteers in this location must be 16 or older and able to lift 30 pounds. Additional training in proper lifting techniques will be provided.

Mattress Recycling: The Mustard Seed recycles 95 percent of an unusable mattress’s components. Volunteers in this area will help cut and pull apart mattresses and move recycled materials into sorted piles. Volunteers in this area must be 18 years of age or older and be able to lift 25 pounds.
