Beds for Anita and Her Children

“My family and I were in a crisis. Me and my kids were homeless for the last 5 months.”

A lease termination and stable housing falling through was all it took for Anita and her 4 children to find themselves homeless. “My husband left me back in January. It’s just me and my kids now. We were married for 14 years, I didn’t know what to do without him.”

Anita lost all of her furniture and other possessions when she wasn’t able to keep up with payments to her storage unit. To further complicate her situation, Anita was laid off from her job. “No income, no child support, no anything.”

After 5 months of staying in hotels, Anita was final able to achieve stable housing and rent an apartment. “We moved in two weeks ago, and had no furniture or anything. We’re all sharing an air mattress right now. We’re so excited to get beds.”

In total, Anita and her children received 37 pieces of furniture from The Mustard Seed.
