Client Story: Megan
Megan, 28, said she was working at her dream job in New York City as a restaurant manager in Times Square when she decided to move back home to Orlando. She temporarily moved in with some friends until she could save enough money to obtain her own apartment.
In January, Megan landed a job as a bar tender at Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Disney Springs but then was laid off because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“All of my goals, all of my plans, disappeared,” Megan said. “Tackling unemployment, fearfully trying to stay healthy and safe, my entire world was turned upside down.”
Megan secured an apartment with her unemployment benefits, and thanks to YOUR SUPPORT, The Mustard Seed fully furnished it.
“During this crazy time of politics and being in quarantine, it was easy to find myself lonely and dealing with feelings of depression,” Megan said. “But because of this program, and all the help and support (The Mustard Seed has) given me, I have never felt such overwhelming support from my community.”
