The Mustard Seed’s vision is that the provision of basic household furniture may set the stage for individuals to achieve restored dignity and self-esteem, enabling them to move ahead and take control of their futures.
Position purpose
Under the direction of The Mustard Seed of Central Florida, Inc. (TMS) management, the Driver and Furniture Mover is responsible for exercising the proper use and extraordinary care of TMS vehicles and other equipment. In addition, the Furniture Mover is charged with the responsibility of representing TMS in a professional manner to members of the community, and with encouraging in-kind donors to make a financial gift at the time of donation pick-up. Furniture Movers, therefore, are held accountable for proper cash handling.

The Furniture Mover will work in teams of two alongside drivers under the supervision of TMS Management to provide TMS donors with donation pickup and TMS Furniture Program clients with delivery services including, but not limited to, the following:

General Description
The Warehouse Team Lead shall manage all aspects and safety of the warehouse including, donation pickups and drop-offs, inventory sheets, assist clients loading of household items, and general warehouse cleanliness.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Warehouse Team Lead will work under the supervision of the Director of Operations in providing operational support of the warehouse including, but not limited to:
Present The Mustard Seed organization positively and confidently to the clients and donors.
Collaborate with Client Intake person to request the number of clients per day. Be prepared to perform the Client Specialist duties as an alternative. Coordinating all processes that involve the furniture clients and the disbursement of furniture.
Every am examine Row 3 to maintain a full line of beds, including mattresses and box springs. All items must be sprayed to sanitize with Sterifab product prior to placement on the line.
Responsible for Inventory management. Record all donations on inventory sheet each day. Deliver inventory sheets to the Office Coordinator at the end of each day.
Management of drivers as relates specifically to warehouse operations.
Oversee items as The Mustard Seed vehicles or external transporters arrive to the warehouse to be certain they are offloaded to the correct location within the facility. Make certain each item is listed on the inventory sheet.
Support the Director of Operations and the Executive Director in leading all special projects as they arise, pertaining to the warehouse and its operations.
Coordinate with the Director of Operations when large sources of furniture and other material are donated for furniture and clothing bank programs to prepare the warehouse capacity. Large shipments from any one company to be inventoried separately and listed by company name.
Accept only donations that are suitable for clients from donors (no rips, stains, tears, or odors) offering them a receipt and a thank you, as well as assuring that all the donated items are put into their respective areas and inventoried.
Support the Recycling Department when needed, pertaining to forklift activities.
Maintain an ongoing volunteer project list. Management of all community service workers, volunteers, and staff to ensure they are maintaining productivity in the warehouse.
Rotate inventory from the loft, Conex boxes, trailers, and upper row shelving.
Responsible for maintaining an organized and clean dish room, linen room, sorting room, upstairs storage area, clean warehouse and loading area.
Every day sweep warehouse and roll tide yard.
End of day turn all lights and fans off.
Training will be provided to drive company vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications
The primary qualifications for the position of Warehouse Team Lead are:
A genuine passion and concern for The Mustard Seed of Central Florida’s mission.
A strong and unwavering commitment to ethical business practices, including honesty and integrity. This includes demonstrating no favoritism, dishonesty, giving away items or keeping items for self or others.
Efficient, strong, hard-working, and able to multi-task. Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. on a daily basis without any special compromises.
Superior interpersonal skills, especially in relating to clients and donors of different backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and abilities.
Must have valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Must submit to drug and background employment screening tests. Due to the nature of work and the constant contact with valuable items, this person may not have any theft, burglary, fraud, or violent crimes in their criminal history.
